"Akhiyaan ch paavan kivein" (with english translation)- Surinder Kaur

This is a beautiful Punjabi Folk song sung by 'Surinder Kaur' famous as 
Koyal (cuckoo) of Punjab.
The soulful lyrics are written by well-known Punjabi Poet 'Shiv Kumar Batalvi'.


 I have tried translating it in English so that non-Punjabi speakers can also admire the depth of the words in the song :)

    Thank you so much. I got drawn to this song when I heard a two lines in the movie "oye lucky lucky oye" . YouTubed it and fell completely in love with it.

    Excellent job,thanks a lot , the feel is immense in this song,punjabi language , the writer composer and singer all bring the real feel of a folk song , and gives a glimse of soni mahiwal. Thanks

    beautiful translation...i heard it first in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, a great movie, too bad so much of Punjab and other areas went there and most of it is getting ruined
