"Akhiyaan ch paavan kivein" (with english translation)- Surinder Kaur

This is a beautiful Punjabi Folk song sung by 'Surinder Kaur' famous as
Koyal (cuckoo) of Punjab.
The soulful lyrics are written by well-known Punjabi Poet 'Shiv Kumar Batalvi'.

I have tried translating it in English so that non-Punjabi speakers can also admire the depth of the words in the song :)

" Inna Akhiyan Ch Paavan Kive Kajla Ve
Akhiyan Ch Tu Vasda.. -2

How do i wear kohl on my eyes..
when it's you (who resides) in my eyes..

Har Vele Channa Mera Tere val Muh Ve -2
Buliyan ch Naa Tera
Akhiyan ch Tu ve.. -2

My Love.. Your face is ever present before me
Your name is on my lips..
You are in my eyes..

Jadon Hasdi, Bhulekha menu Painda Ve
Haseya Ch Tu Hasda -2

When i laugh i get delusional..
For i feel you laughing (with me) in my laughter..

Lamiyan si Vaatan Channa
Nere Nere Aaea Tu -2

Dear.. the path was too long
 You came closer and closer..

Akhiyan De Raahi Aa Ke
Dil Ch Samayeya Tu -2

Through the way of eyes..
you made a way into my heart..

Jadon Puchdi aa Piyar Diyan Gallan Ve
Hauli Hauli tu dasda

When i ask you about the lovetalks..
You whisper to me softly..

Inna Akhiyan Ch Paavan Kive Kajla Ve
Akhiyan Ch Tu Vasda

How do i wear kohl on my eyes..
when it's you (who resides) in my eyes..

Masa Masa Jindari Main Pyar vich Rangi Ve -2
Aj Menu Jaapda Main..
tere Naal mangi Ve
Aj Khushiyan da Ho Gea Savera Ve
Gam Saathon Door Nasda

With much struggle I've painted life with love..
Today i have realized..
I'm meant to be with you..
Today it's the dawn of happiness (contentment)
Sorrow is going away from us..

Inna Akhiyan Ch Paavan Kive Kajla Ve
Akhiyan Ch Tu Vasda...

How do i wear kohl on my eyes..
when it's you (who resides) in my eyes.. "

P.S. My favourite lines in this song are "Jadon Hasdi, Bhulekha menu Painda Ve Haseya Ch Tu Hasda " : )
